Kawaii Judy Hopps Dress Style Hair Tutorial | Zootopia 2 Inspired Updo

Zootopia 2 is already making waves in Japan, following the massive success of Frozen ! As soon as I saw Judy Hopps rocking her elegant dress in the trailer, I was instantly inspired to create a Judy-inspired hairstyle.

Replicating Judy’s adorable folded-ear look with human hair was a creative challenge, but the result is worth it! This short hair tutorial makes it simple for anyone to get this cute Disney-inspired look at home.

Hair Arrangement Tips

• Step 1: The Base

Create a half-up ponytail at a high position first, then combine it with the rest of the hair to make a single high ponytail. Tip: Ask the person to look up slightly just before tying the hair; this prevents the back of the head from sagging and ensures a clean, tight look.

• Step 2: Braiding

Braid the ponytail. (Either a regular braid or a Dutch braid works perfectly! 🙆‍♀️)

• Step 3: Creating the Base Bun

Fold the braid toward the face to create a small "bump" and secure it with a hair tie. (Note: Be careful not to let the bump get too large! ‼️⬅️ Important). Once secured, you can remove the hair tie from the end of the braid.

• Step 4: Using the Bun Maker

Take a small bun maker and thread a small hair tie through it to create a loop. Insert it into the braided bump so that the loop is positioned at the bottom.

• Step 5: Adding Volume

Insert one more bun maker in the same way.

• Step 6: Shaping the Ends

Straighten the ends of the hair and temporarily secure them with a tie. While holding the hair against the bun maker with your hand, gently slide the hair tie downward. (Note: Be careful not to let the hair spread out sideways! ⬅️ Crucial‼️)

• Step 7: Securing the Ends

Use the hair tie attached to the bun maker to tie the ends of the hair. If the temporary hair tie feels bulky or bothers you, feel free to remove it.

• Step 8: Final Hold

Prepare a new hair tie and secure it to hold the ends firmly in place.

• Step 9: Professional Touch

Although not shown in the video, I recommend finishing with hairspray to lock everything in place for a long-lasting hold.

A handmade floral headpiece featuring vibrant yellow faux flowers reminiscent of marigolds or carnations, interspersed with small dark green leaves. The piece is inspired by Judy Hopps’ yellow dress from Zootopia 2.

DIY Floral Hair Accessory 🌸

I also designed and handcrafted the yellow flower hair clip featured in the video. Here is a quick breakdown of my DIY process:

  1. Attach thin wire to yellow ribbon using double-sided tape for a flexible, poseable base.
  2. Use a hot glue gun to securely attach the decorative flowers and leaves.
  3. Shape it to match your hairstyle!

This look is perfect for Disney Bounding or a Judy Hopps cosplay. If you wear this to meet Judy and Nick at the parks, they will be so excited to see your Zootopia 2 style!

Easy Cinderella Hair Tutorial: Stunning Updo Using Only Hair Ties!

Are you a pro at making hair buns? Honestly,   I used to be terrible at them. I couldn't use hairpins properly, and even when I thought I’d finally made a decent bun, it would fall apart in minutes. Instead of a beautiful, round shape, my buns always ended up looking messy and lopsided. I used to be so envious of the moms who could effortlessly create perfect buns for their children. Eventually, I discovered a technique to create a rock-solid bun   using only hair ties. I’ve done this hairstyle for my daughter countless times.
