The Ultimate Life-Hack by a Japanese Mom: Perfect Anna Braids in Minutes! ❄️

Anna's Frozen 2 inspired half-up braid tutorial: A seamless, crown-like braided hairstyle for long hair with hidden knots.

When I first saw Anna’s signature half-up braided hairstyle in Frozen 2, I thought, “That looks so simple and cute! Anyone could transform into Anna with that look.”

However, I quickly realized I was wrong. The knots and hair ties were nowhere to be found. It looked so seamless that I almost gave up, thinking it was impossible to recreate in real life.

But I didn’t stop there. After a lot of trial and error, I finally discovered a way to easily replicate Anna’s look!

Hair Styling Points

Step 1

Leave a section of hair on both sides and tie the rest into a temporary ponytail.

Step 2

Create a standard three-strand braid with the left section. You can leave it sleek or pull it apart slightly for a "puffy" look—whichever you prefer! If you go for the messy look, just tug gently on small sections of the braid.

Step 3

Divide the right section into three strands as if you were going to braid it. Hold the right and middle strands in your hand, and leave the leftmost strand hanging for now.

Step 4 (The Key Step! 💡)

Take the braid from the left side and rotate it outward (counter-clockwise) one full turn. This makes the braid sit much prettier! Combine it with the strands in your right hand, tie them together, and do a "topsy tail" (flip the ponytail inward and through).

Step 5

Take the remaining hair from the right side and pass it behind the braid. Loop it through the base, then pull gently to tighten the loop. (Be careful not to pull too hard!)

Step 6

Remove the hair ties from the braid and the initial temporary ponytail, and you're all set! ♪

As you can see in the video, as long as you can do a basic three-strand braid, anyone can master this style. You don’t need any special tools or professional skills. You can truly become the perfect Anna.

Give it a try and embrace your inner Princess of Arendelle!

Are you a pro at making hair buns? Honestly,   I used to be terrible at them. I couldn't use hairpins properly, and even when I thought I’d finally made a decent bun, it would fall apart in minutes.
