Easy Rapunzel hairstyle that can be done just by tying

Easy Rapunzel Hair Tutorial with flowers Countless little girls dream of having Rapunzel’s magical hair. My daughters are obsessed with her look and constantly ask me, "Mom, can you do my hair like Rapunzel?" I know I’m not the only mother who hears this request on a daily basis!

The signature Rapunzel look is all about that thick braid and those iconic, colorful flowers. However, many parents struggle because they think you need advanced braiding skills to pull it off.

Good news: You can create a stunning Rapunzel-inspired hairstyle without knowing how to braid at all.

By following our YouTube tutorial, you can learn how to master a "faux-braid" style using simple techniques. The real secret to success lies in the flower hair ties and their specific placement.

We don’t recommend just putting the hair ties in randomly. To achieve that polished, princess-perfect look, it’s important to balance the flower shapes and colors in an optimized arrangement.

🌸 Rapunzel-Inspired Floral Hair Arrangement 🌸

1. Preparation & Base

Section off a small amount of hair from both sides of your face. Tie the rest of your hair into a temporary ponytail to keep it out of the way.

Take the front sections and secure them with a hair elastic, leaving a bit of space from the roots.

【Important! ‼️】 Slide the elastic back toward the back of your head. To keep it neat, use one hand to hold the roots firmly while the other hand pulls the elastic. This is the secret to a clean finish!

2. Creating the Side Braids

Perform a "topsy tail" (flip-through) three times. Secure it with a hair elastic featuring a flower ornament, then gently loosen the loops.

Note: Loosening them gives it a braid-like look, but if you're comfortable with braiding, feel free to do a regular three-strand braid instead! Repeat this on both the left and right sides.

Bring the left and right sections together at the center and tie them with a purple flower hair elastic (inspired by Rapunzel!).

3. Adding Volume & Detail

Remove the temporary ponytail. Take about half of the remaining hair from both sides, tie it together, and do another topsy tail. Pull it tight to secure.

Gently pull at the sections to add volume for that signature Rapunzel look.

Bring half of the hair from the back to the front and tie it with an elastic. Loosen it, then secure it with a flower hair elastic.

4. The Final Steps

Repeat this cycle: "Bring the back half to the front → Tie → Loosen → Add flower elastic" all the way down to the ends of your hair.

Once you reach the ends, tie all the hair together into one final ponytail.

Clip a flower hair clip near your temple to complete the look! ♪

✨ Pro Tip for "Pancaking" (Loosening)

Don’t try to pull everything out at once! The trick is to tug small strands bit by bit while checking the overall balance in the mirror. This will give you that perfect, airy volume.
